Harper's Heart

Harpers Heart is a blog about art. Primarily MY art (which is for sale, by the way!). The name is derived from my beloved bull mastiff mix, Harper. She is now in doggie heaven, watching over me and my new dogs, Ruby & Kiefer.…and my art.

Ask me anything
Another oil pastel mixed with the luscious ‘Faber-castell’ gelato sticks. I’m headed back to the art store to pick up a few more colors. They really are wonderful to work with. (I should get a commission - but I’m not!).

New mixed media piece, done with a variety of oil pastels AND fabercastel ‘gelato’ sticks! I saw Suzi Blu raving about them in a video ions ago and finally found some. They’re super yummy; like water soluble oil pastels in a twist up tube. Really nice to work with!

Wow. I’ve been super busy getting ready for my flash show tomorrow; haven’t posted anything new in days! Here’s something I just finished.

Dolce & Gabbana frescoe inspired details, Fall/Winter 2013/2014 RTW

WOW!!! This may seem like a bizarre, random thing for me to post (could NOT care less about haute couture) BUT I love icons! It’s really so beautiful. If I could afford it I might wear it once and then hang it up as art.

Found this older pastel, matted & framed it thinking I’d put it in my show for sale, but I think I’m going to have to keep it! Some pieces I just get too emotionally attached to and just can’t let them go. Now, if someone wanted to pay, say, $1500.00 for it (!), I’d probably say “OK!”…otherwise I’m keepin’ it.

Unearthed a much older pastel & put a few finishing touches on it & I’m. Kinda liking it! Might make it into the show next week.
